SpaceX launches rescue mission for two astronauts stuck in space

A rescue mission has been launched by SpaceX to bring home two NASA astronauts currently trapped on the International Space Station. The rescue mission of astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams commenced after safety concerns caused their Boeing spacecraft to return to Earth empty. The pair first arrived at the space station in June for an intended eight-day visit which has now been stretched to eight months.
