SPEAKER ANITA AMONG VIES FOR NRM NATIONAL VICE-CHAIRPERSON POSITION

Speakers of various councils under Local Government have petitioned Parliament Speaker Annet Anita Among, seeking improved service delivery and better compensation. Led by Tashobya Bonny, the Speaker of Mbarara City Council, the local government speakers are advocating for a salary increase from 600,000 shillings to a more deserving pay. Speakers and Deputy Speakers from all urban councils in Uganda, including cities, city divisions, municipalities, and town councils, have formally petitioned Speaker Annet Anita Among, demanding a salary increase. They currently receive 600,000 shillings.
