Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in India for first foreign state visit

Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has pledged to bolster ties with neighbour India, as he makes his first overseas visit as head of state since winning elections in September. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the Sri Lankan leader in New Delhi, where they reaffirmed the importance of bilateral relations, strengthening economic cooperation and fostering regional security.
