St. James South's parents benefit from parenting sessions
A number of families across St. James South communities recently benefitted from a parenting seminar and back-to-school initiative, organised by the National Peace Programme. While the children were gifted with school supplies, their parents engaged in a five-week support session, focused on raising emotionally intelligent children. Founder and Chairman of the Caribbean Institute for Social and Emotional Learning Toney Olton provided some insight into what those sessions covered. Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for the area Sandra Husbands says such initiatives are vital to bringing about change from the household level to the wider society.
