Stock market predictions for 2025
Ten Capital portfolio manager Jun Bei Liu shares her insights on the possible stock market’s performance in 2025. Ms Liu, who runs a long-short fund, explained that the stock market is always looking to the future, buying into what’s expected to happen six to 12 months down the line. Currently, the market is pricing in interest rate cuts, which has investors excited. However, Ms Liu cautioned that the enthusiasm may be overblown, as the economy is still experiencing slow growth. “Share market always buys future earnings … and what share market right now is seeing is that you know what? There's going to be interest rate cuts,” Ms Liu told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood. Ms Liu went on to point out that the recent downgrades from retailers, such as Peter Warren and Mosaic Brands, are a sign that the market may be getting ahead of itself.
