Middle East analyst Laura Blumenfeld said striking Iran’s oil facilities would be a “smart move” by Israel as the oil reserves are the “black lifeblood of Iran’s Supreme Leader”. Iran accounts for about two per cent of the world’s oil supply, and prices have spiked following US President Joe Biden’s comments on Israeli retaliation. “It would be the closest they could do to deliver a deadly blow,” Ms Blumenfeld told Sky News Australia. “Another option would be the missile production facilities if they’re looking for proportionality.”
