Strong legislation needed to protect children

Minister in the Prime Minister's Office with Responsibility for Culture, Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight says the introduction of the Child Protection Bill demonstrates Government understands strong legislation is needed to protect children. She says country could not accept the fate of children was in the hands of outdated legislation. Minister Munro-Knight says the notion children should be seen and not heard is no longer relevant.
