Students encouraged to stay hydrated
Barbadians have the option of drinking more water thanks to the public Newport Water Cooler Stations across the island. Their installations fall in line with the Hydrate Barbados Programme which encourages student hydration, and supports the drive for national well-being and the fight against single use plastics. Over the past three years, the 26 sites have gained popularity being used over two million times. Newport's Marketing Executive Janillia August, provided the update as she spoke to the media at the Lester Vaughan School, where the latest cooler station was unveiled in collaboration with the Barbados Diabetes Foundation and the Great Pacific Charitable Trust. Principal Suzette Holder thanked the donors who made the cooler a reality as she notes it will used by all on compound.
