Sub-Saharan Africa growth to rise 3.8%

IMF Country economist for Uganda, Andrew Womer, has told the press today in Kampala that, growth in forecast for sub saharan Africa is set to edge up 3.8 % in the year 2024 from 3.4 % last year, on account of a drop in inflation across the region and significant fiscal adjustments in the previous year. They report, inflation dropped around 6% in early in the year from highs’s of 10% a year earlier, supported by lower food prices. Officials say debt has averaged 60% of GDP.
