Successes and failures of the Anti-Graft protest | MorningAtNTV
Almost since the beginning of the year, Ugandans have been increasingly provoked by mounting allegations of corruption against parliamentary officials, government departments, and individuals, including Speaker Anita Among. This led to a heated campaign for a protest, inspired by the Kenyan youth protest. The anti-corruption campaign began with online revelations of allegedly irregular expenditures by the Speaker's office and others close to her, along with mounting allegations against other individuals and government departments. Yesterday marked Uganda's intense anti-graft protest day, which unleashed grievances and saw many scenes, both expected and unexpected, with dozens of young people who responded to the call now in custody. We speak to a panel including Marion Kirabo - lawyer, Ashraf Kakaire - Membership Manager, Open Space, and Kassim Kamugisha - Deputy RCC, Nakawa. #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition Subscribe to Our Channel For more news visit http://www.ntv.co.ug Follow us on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/ntvuganda Connect with us on Messenger via m.me/NTVUganda
