Sue Gray has resigned as Sir Keir Starmer's top adviser, Number 10 has announced. In a statement, the prime minister thanked Ms Gray for "all the support she has given me, both in opposition and government, and her work to prepare us for government and get us started on our programme of change". She has been appointed as the prime minister's new envoy for regions and nations. Chief adviser and former Labour general election campaign director Morgan McSweeney will replace her as the prime minister's top adviser.
