NASA astronaut Sunita Williams, aboard the International Space Station (ISS), experienced 16 sunrises in one day as she welcomed the New Year. This is possible because the ISS orbits Earth approximately every 90 minutes, witnessing multiple sunrises and sunsets daily. Williams, who has been stranded in space longer than planned due to spacecraft technical issues, will remain aboard until at least March 2025.
