Supreme Court rules BC can pursue class-action lawsuit against opioid providers
Canada's highest court has ruled British Columbia can move ahead with a class-action lawsuit representing provinces across Canada, suing opioid makers for their alleged role in the country's drug epidemic. The Supreme Court of Canada's decision is another step toward a potential cross-country action by governments that paid to treat patients impacted by the addictive drugs.
