At the end of September hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida with winds reaching 140 miles per hour. Less than two weeks later, as residents began to face up to the destruction left behind they were struck again this time by hurricane Milton, described by President Biden as ‘the storm of the century.’ Floridians are no stranger to hurricanes but the ferocity of these tropical storms has left many dumbfounded. Sejal Karia travelled to the Tampa Bay area to meet those involved in the clear up operation and the disaster-weary families wondering if they should leave for good.
