SUZAN MAGARA MURDER CASE: DEFENCE REFUTES EVIDENCE FROM PROSECUTION WITNESS
The defense legal team in the Susan Magara murder case has refuted the evidence presented by prosecution witness Kanene Enock, a forensic expert and cyber analyst. They criticized Enock for failing to identify the names under which the kidnappers' contacts were registered. According to the defense, the expert merely analyzed and tracked the alleged kidnappers' contacts without discovering the registered names or directly linking any of the eight accused individuals to the crime. In response, Kanene Enock informed the court that, during the data analysis, the contacts were initially registered in the accused's names but were later changed. During the hearing, accused Hajjara Nakandi revealed that Shakoor Mugabe, a convict in Luzira prison, repeatedly asked her to plead guilty to the offenses against him. Judge Alex Ajiji ordered the prosecution to investigate this claim and report back within a month. The judge adjourned the case to July 3, 2024, for further hearings.
