Sydney Fish Market begins seafood marathon

The Sydney seafood marathon has officially begun with 100,000 customers expected at the Sydney Fish Market over the next 36 hours. Doors opened at 5am on Saturday and will remain open until 5pm on Christmas Eve. Fishmongers are expecting to sell 350 tonnes of seafood over the course of Saturday and Sunday. The Sydney Fish Market will shortly undergo a major transformation, with the new Fish Market set to open in late 2024. It is expected to be the “most significant” building by the harbour since the Sydney Opera House.
