Syria War Live Updates: Explosions Seen Near Qamishli Airport | US Targets ISIS Key Sites In Syria The United States says it has carried out dozens of air strikes on ISIL (ISIS) targets in Syria following the stunning collapse of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime. A large number of explosions were heard and seen near Qamishli airport in northeastern Syria. It’s not clear what cause the blasts but unconfirmed reports said it was an airstrike on a base of the Syrian army.
