Shadow Infrastructure and Transport Minister Bridget McKenzie has given her thoughts on the Prime Minister’s “post-Christmas spending splurge”. The Prime Minister is in Cairns in Queensland announcing $260 million to go towards community and housing infrastructure after already announcing $7.2 billion to upgrade the Bruce Highway. “Taxpayers need to be asking, given the Reserve Bank’s warnings ... is this the right tactic by the Prime Minister and in the national interest?” Ms McKenzie told Sky News Australia. “It’s a lot of money over a couple of days and we haven’t seen the end of it yet.”
