The global education sector needs 44 million teachers by 2030 to offer quality education. This was reaffirmed at the 14th Policy Dialogue Forum -- looking at the state of teaching and why there are teacher shortages worldwide. In South Africa, the number of teachers may not be as big an issue as in other parts of the world. But there appears to be a gap -- where the 24,000 teachers produced annually are not adequately meeting the skills and staffing needs of the country. eNCA reporter Hloni Mtimkulu was at the teaching dialogue and filed this report. #dstv403
