Teachers warn President over disobeying court orders

A crisis is looming in junior secondary schools as intern teachers maintain that learning will not resume on the 8th of January if the government does not employ them on permanent and pensionable terms. The teachers have warned President William Ruto against disobeying orders issued by the employment and labour relations court in a case challenging the extension of their internship contracts. The educators have accused the government of discrimination, vowing to take legal action against Teachers Service Commission CEO Nancy Macharia over what they term the politicization of teachers' recruitment.
