Teen pregnancy | Sexual education programmes in the spotlight

Teenage pregnancy is a global problem with clearly defined drivers that fuel the social phenomenon. However, South Africa’s teenage pregnancy rate remains one of the highest in the world. Adolescent pregnancy mostly affects girls between the ages of 10 and 19. The youngest mother to give birth on New Year's Day was a 14-year-old girl in KwaZulu-Natal.
