Temperature likely to exceed temporarily 1.5°C target in next 5 years, WMO says | ABS-CBN News

Every one of the last 12 months has ranked as the planet's hottest on record, WMO said on Wednesday (June 5) and there is now an 80% chance that at least one of the next five years, will be the first in which the planet's average temperature temporarily exceeds 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 degrees Fahrenheit) for a full year. It is also highly likely that one of the next five years will beat 2023 as the world's hottest year on record, the WMO said.
