TENSIONS PERSIST: DEMAND FOR RELEASE OF IMPOUNDED FISH AT ELEGU BORDER

Two Weeks now tensions still high at Elegu border and Pakwach Fisheries stop check point in pakwach district as South Sudanese and traders from Arua city intensify their fights to demand for unconditional release of their impounded fish  Over 200 hundred fishmongers from West Nile and South Sudan predominantly women have pitched camp at Pakwach breach and Elegu one stop border post demanding government of Uganda through Fisheries Protection unit to release their fish that they have imported in to Uganda through Elegu South Sudan border The Fish mongers faulted their losses and sufferings on the UPDF fisheries protection unit for clearing them and later on demanding for unaccounted money of 3000USD on each truck before they could proceed with their fish into the market yet Uganda Revnue Authority have as well cleared them.
