THA Chief Secretary Praises Administration’s Performance
Tobago House of Assembly Chief Secretary, Farley Augustine, has given his administration a rating of 7 out of 10 for their performance over the last three years. Speaking to the media on December 6th, which marked their third year in office, Mr. Augustine commended his team. "Across the three years, we have demonstrated an ability to remain stable even in the presence of what might appear to be chaos. Although we had several hiccups, although we had several challenges, I feel like we have a very stable government that was able to stabilise the Tobago economy post COVID, and also a government that has spent a significant amount of resources cleaning up the mess." With one more year to go before fresh THA elections are called in 2025, the Chief Secretary assured more work will be done. "If we are to rate the government’s performance, we are somewhere at a 7 out of 10 but being the kind of perfectionist I am, I want to push in this last year to get it closer to 10 because we have to go above and beyond for Tobagonians and the reward for good work is more work."
