The 6th FITSPA Fin Tech Conference 2024 – B.O.U expressed no intentions to regulate AI

The central bank has urged stakeholders in financial technologies to learn how to incorporate Artificial Intelligence responsibly in their operations, particularly to mitigate cyber-related threats. Dr. Twinemanzi Tumubweine, the Executive Director in charge of National Payments at the Bank of Uganda, emphasized at the 6th Annual FITSPA FinTech Conference in Kampala that the central bank has no plans to regulate AI.
