Standard Chartered is forecasting that Bitcoin prices could reach US$250,000 next year, with its CEO Bill Winters telling CNA in an exclusive interview that there is potential for cryptocurrency to be well-regulated. He added that he can see the entire financial infrastructure shifting from the current form of securities and mutual, to different types of tokens. The bank’s “unquestioned” compliance also means people have been “flooding” into its cryptocurrency ventures, but Mr Winters said criminals do not go to StanChart because they will not get an account.
