The Gathering - Where Music And Community Spirit Come Together

A collection drive with a musical twist. This yearly event hosted by Sweet 100.1 FM, powered by the collaborative efforts of the public and the TTT Network, strikes the perfect chord between generosity and entertainment. Sweet 100.1FM's Senior Producer and radio personality Mark Anthony reminded how music and community spirit come together to make it all happen. "The Gathering is just not a concert it’s also a collection drive and through this collection drive we collect items from the general public to give to the less fortunate in society. So after Sunday, we would’ve collected items like the basic items - flour, oil, rice sugar, dry foods, peas. Sometimes toiletries and other, not clothing though, and we don’t collect money. There are persons that like to donate money but we’re not able to collect money as such but of course those sorts of items are welcomed, and you can drop them off either before or on the day. You could walk with your items and be part of The Gathering 2024." As the holiday spirit fills the air, there’s one little step donors can take to make their contributions even more special. Mark Anthony explains how a simple personal touch can help ensure every gift finds the perfect little hands to brighten the season. "If you are contributing toys for a boy or girl, we ask if you could wrap those toys and maybe you can also label the toys to let us know if it’s for a boy or a girl and the age it is actually intended for." The culmination of the Gathering takes place this Sunday at TTT Limited on Maraval Road.
