The Greens have said they will scale back some demands while negotiating over Labor's two key housing bills. While the party is still committed to calling for 25,000 social and affordable homes, it has watered down its positions on negative gearing and rent caps. The government is accusing the Greens and Coalition of playing politics with housing and is calling on them to commit to supporting the bills. Greens housing spokesperson Max Chandler-Mather claimed the demands are 'realistic and popular'.
