A nine-year-old child narrowly escaped being injured, while his mother is now in critical condition at hospital, after an armed bandit shot at them when they and their relatives went to purchase a vehicle advertised for sale on Facebook Marketplace. The Police Service has been urging the public to exercise caution when carrying out such transactions, given that several people have either been robbed or shot by assailants engaging in an online scam. Some 40 such incidents have taken place this year, thus far. Speaking on today’s edition of CNC3’s The Morning Brew, TTPS Media Ambassador ASP Rajesh Lal echoed a recommendation by Snr Supt of the North Eastern Division, Mervyn Edwards, that people come to police stations where lawmen can oversee the exchange in a secure and controlled environment.
