The RBA spent $80,000 on last year’s Christmas party

It has been revealed the Reserve Bank spent more than $80,000 on a Christmas party last year despite multiple rate rises. Around 600 staff attended the event at Sydney’s Sofitel Hotel, which featured a DJ act costing $10,000. Political strategists have criticised the central bank for the cash splash during the cost of living crisis. The RBA and Treasurer Jim Chalmers are yet to comment on the matter.
