King Charles and his family have rung in the new year with a mix of tradition and modernity, according to writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue. "The royal family celebrated with a bit of a mix of the old and the new. We know that the family spent Christmas in Sandringham in their palace in Norfolk as a tradition," Ms Krakue told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo. "They engaged in Christmas games, which was apparently one of the Queen's favourite traditions. And then for New Year's, Catherine and her family spent it with her own family in Berkshire, in her family's beautiful listed home over there. So they had a kind of a mix of the old and the new."
