The View co-host Sunny Hostin has been criticised after claiming Donald Trump never spoke about the price of eggs during his campaign. Hostin expressed frustration at voters who prioritised “kitchen table” issues over the president-elect's alleged threat to democracy. The View co-host added that President-elect Trump never once spoke about “core economic issues” throughout his campaign. “Most people are saying, ‘Well this was a kitchen table issue, this was about the cost of eggs.' Donald Trump never talked about the price of eggs,” she said. Hostin’s claim, however, was proven to be false as Trump posted about the price of groceries to Truth Social in September. A clip of the co-host’s comments was posted to X, with social media users slamming Hostin for “lying”. “Sunny Hostin is lying through her teeth like usual,” wrote one user.
