The View co-hosts clash over whether 'Squad' member AOC is 'too progressive'
The View co-hosts recently clashed over whether US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is “too progressive”. On Wednesday, the co-hosts reacted to a speech by Kamala Harris before shifting to AOC’s failed bid for a top Democratic position. Cortez recently lost a bid to lead the House Oversight Committee to 74-year-old Gerry Connolly on Tuesday. Many believe Connoly’s victory over Ocasio-Cortez came due to the influence of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Co-host Sunny Hostin spoke about the next generation of young American voters and how AOC has been “demonised”. “She’s been demonised as this too-progressive, far-left person, and I want to try to set the record straight because if she is too progressive, then the Democrats really are going to lose the working class because this is her platform,” Hostin said. Conservative co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin responded to Hostin, explaining why AOC is not popular among Americans. Griffin cited how many Americans do "not support” the Green New Deal, stating the deal would "crush jobs across this country”.
