The world is watching an 'attempt to annihilate a nation': Palestinian deputy UN envoy
The US has blocked yet another draft resolution at the UN Security Council calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. The resolution was calling for an immediate and permanent truce. It also demanded the release of Israeli captives held by Hamas. It's the fourth time the US has used its veto within the UN body to reject a call for a ceasefire. Palestine's Deputy Ambassador to the UN, Majed Bamya, stressed during Security Council session that a ceasefire would allow all lives to be saved. While Israel’s UN Ambassador Danny Danon thanked the US for using its veto, saying the Biden administration was “standing on the side of morality and justice” by “refusing to abandon the hostages”.
