‘They are going under’: Businesses are ‘really struggling to survive’

Senator Jacqui Lambie says businesses are “really struggling to survive” through the cost of living crisis and are “going under”. Hospitality businesses are failing at the fastest rate on record, with soaring food and energy costs, as well as a pullback in consumer spending, pushing cafes and businesses to the wall. “In regional areas, they’re shutting everywhere; they’re really struggling to survive,” Ms Lambie told Sky News Australia. “They are going under. People just do not have that spare money where they can go and afford to have even a cup of coffee and a piece of cake. “We need to do something.”
