‘They pay the piper’: Labor receives ‘millions of dollars’ of union donations

Shadow Veterans Affairs Minister Barnaby Joyce has blasted the Labor Party for their “literally millions of dollars” in donations from the union movement and for “paying the piper” when they gain power. The Transport Workers Union says companies like Uber, DoorDash and Menulog will be targeted over the coming months as they look to establish new minimum standards on pay and job security. “This always happens when Labor are in power – they pay the piper,” Mr Joyce told Sky News Australia. “Have a look at the disclosures: there is literally millions of dollars that has arrived from the union movement to pay for the Labor Party. “It’s overwhelmingly a union-driven organisation.”
