‘They’ve been let down’: Expert calls for more support for MH17 downing victims’ families
A decade has passed since Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down over eastern Ukraine. All 283 passengers and 15 crew died in the crash on Jul 17, 2014. Global affairs analyst Michael Bociurkiw, who was one of the first at the crash site, shares his experience with CNA’s Asia Now. He also says many victims’ families could not afford to attend a memorial service in the Netherlands this week, and there should be more financial support for them to travel there or have proper burials.
