Jim Gorman and Terry Doi of Kamloops Fire Rescue, who've been training in ice rescues in the Thompson River, say the ice can be thin and dangerous due fluctuating temperatures. Falling through ice is possible and they "encourage people not to go near the water this time of year," as well as to watch out for their pets.
