Thorne sworn in as Opposition Leader

Member of Parliament for Christ Church South, Ralph Thorne has officially been sworn in as Opposition Leader. The ceremony took place this morning at State House before President the Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason. It comes just days after the former Government Backbencher crossed the floor. Speaking to the media directly after taking the oath, Mr. Thorne confirmed he was no longer a member of the Barbados Labour Party and stated his reason for leaving the Government. When asked if he would be joining the Democratic Labour Party, he said he did not want to reside within narrow political concerns.
