Thousands partake in rallies across Syria to mark end of Assad regime

Residents in Syria are welcoming a new era for the country after the fall of former president Bashar Al-Assad. The city of Homs north of Damascus has been the heart of Syria's revolution. Its neighborhoods were among the first to be destroyed by tanks and war planes as the uprising spiralled into civil war back in 2011.
