Singaporeans can look forward to a series of activities and special promotions at Lau Pa Sat from July until the end of the year, as the hawker-market celebrates its 130th anniversary. This includes an immersive heritage trail using augmented and virtual reality tech, as well as a three-metre long commemorative mural showcasing the transformation of Singapore's skyline. A melody will also be played every hour from Lau Pa Sat's iconic clock tower. First declared a national monument in 1973, Lau Pa Sat was relocated in 1894 and built on reclaimed land, where it still stands today.
