Three UNRA weigh bridge managers accused of extortion

Three officials attached to Uganda National Roads Authority in Mbarara District have been arrested over alleged extortion. The officials are enforcement officers in charge of the Mbarara-Fixed Weigh Bridge. They have allegedly solicited Shs 500,000 from truck drivers who load beyond the permissible loading weight.
