‘Ticks the diversity box’: Fatima Payman returns fire on Labor over Gaza conflict

Senator Fatima Payman has launched an astonishing attack on the Labor government. She’s accused her former party of trying to control, censor and silence her over her stance on the conflict in Gaza. “In hindsight, I don’t think the Labor Party was ready for me – it’s great to have somebody who ticks the diversity box,” Ms Payman told Sky News Australia. “Every interaction, every event I went to, every speech I delivered, was controlled, reviewed, I was told what to say, what not to say.” Ms Payman’s comments come in a special investigation, ‘Clash of Faiths: The Fight for Muslim Votes’, which will air on Sky News Australia on Tuesday, August 13 at 7:30pm.
