The US House of Representatives has approved a bill that would force TikTok's Chinese owners to sell the app. It calls for the parent company, ByteDance, to offload its shares within six months. Supporters say Chinese ownership poses a national security risk - but TikTok denies ties with the government in Beijing. TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew has responded to the vote, urging users to help keep the service running in the US. China's Foreign Ministry has said that any US ban against TikTok on national security concerns is 'not fair'. Al Jazeera’s Katrina Yu has the latest in Beijing. She has more on China's reaction.
