Timelapse Shows SpaceX Launch Streaking Across Phoenix Sky Residents spotted SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket moving across the sky in Phoenix on Tuesday, June 18, shortly following the rocket’s launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Footage filmed and posted to Facebook by Kevin O’Donnell shows the SpaceX rocket over Phoenix, Arizona, on Tuesday night. Timelapse footage taken by O’Donnell shows the rocket’s entire plume as it streaked across the sky. SpaceX said the rocket was taking 20 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit.
