Tobago Celebrates Tobago Day

Annually on December 4th, the island of Tobago celebrates Tobago Day, formally termed 'Assembly Day' in commemoration of the formation of the Tobago House of Assembly through Act 37 of Parliament in 1980. This year, the celebration was launched on November 22nd with a motorcade throughout western Tobago... then to the east and north on November 23rd where residents got a chance to take photos with the 'I love Tobago' signage and enjoy the entertainment. Included in the series of activities were an Inter-Division triathlon and Sports and Family Day where Divisions competed against one another. Today, Wednesday 4th December, the annual Tobago Day Awards will be held at the Shaw Park Complex. The Tobago Day calendar of events will conclude on December 19th with a Thanksgiving Service.
