Top Liberals display united front, as calls for Trudeau to step aside grow

Liberal cabinet ministers are putting on a united front, despite what has become the most organized effort to date to oust Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. On Friday, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland told reporters the “vast” majority of caucus still supports Trudeau, while Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly said the prime minister still has her support. The ministers’ comments come ahead of what promises to be a tense meeting of the Liberal caucus in Ottawa next week as a growing number of MPs try to convince Trudeau to step aside.
