Tories blast Trudeau for “dancing the night away” at Taylor Swift concert during Montreal violence
After protests in Montreal, Quebec, Canada turned violent over the weekend, Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre pointed the finger at the Liberal government on Monday during question period in the House of Commons. “It’s what happens after nine years of a woke prime minister pushing radical, woke identity politics dividing people by race, gender, vaccine status, religion and more,” Poilievre alleged. Defence Minister Bill Blair called the allegations “shameful,” adding that Poilievre made said allegations for “purely partisan political intention.” Conservative MP Melissa Lantsman also questioned Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s response to the violent protests asking “when was the prime minister told about the riot and why did he decide to keep dancing the night away,” in reference to Trudeau’s appearance at the Taylor Swift Eras concert in Toronto on Saturday night. Trudeau and the Liberal Party have condemned the violence which took place in Montreal this past weekend amid anti-NATO protests and protests in support of the Palestinian cause.
