Toronto teen arrested for torturing, killing animals in Riverdale neighbourhood: police

There have been warnings around Toronto’s Riverdale Park neighbourhood to keep pets inside for some time, after reports of animals disappearing or turning up dead. Now, Toronto police have confirmed to Global News that a 16-year-old male was arrested in connection with the case. One resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, recounts how their cat Mildred was found dead. "I can say from viewing Mildred's body that she was or appears to have been brutalized," the resident described. "I totally believe that the system for protection of animals is too lax.
