Toronto terror plot: Canada to consider revoking alleged ISIS agent's citizenship, Miller says
The federal government will consider revoking the citizenship of a Toronto man accused of plotting a terrorist attack for ISIS, Immigration Minister Marc Miller said on Wednesday. Miller told reporters he had begun “preliminary work” to determine whether there was sufficient evidence to rescind the suspect’s Canadian citizenship and a department will look into the timeline of how the individual in question received citizenship. “I'm just disgusted as any Canadian, but I have a responsibility to get to the bottom of it — and I will,” Miller said. “I think Canadians deserve answers. I'm going to get to the bottom of it.” Ahmed Fouad Mostafa Eldidi, 62, and his son Mostafa Eldidi, 26, were arrested in Richmond Hill, Ont., and face nine terrorism charges including conspiracy to commit murder on behalf of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS). When the RCMP announced the charges on July 31, they said the two men were "in the advanced stages of planning a serious, violent attack in Toronto."
